Meet the owner & operators of our small family owned business
Welcome! Our names are Chelsey Bush & Cody Bush
Our journey started in 2009 as high school sweethearts which we met working at a skating rink (Skate America) in Grove City, Ohio. We both became managers and started up running a skating rink in Joliet, Illinois called Family Fun Zone. As the many years went on, we both worked every single job together and most of the time, we worked 2-3 jobs at a time together.
Chelsey got into horses around age 11 and started working at a boarding facility cleaning stalls and feeding horses daily to save up money for her own horse. At age 13, her first horse of her very own was an 11 month old colt named Trigger. Since Chelsey brought Trigger home, she has always paid for everything to keep him without any help. Her parents taught her at a young age what responsibility was and meant. Chelsey & Trigger both taught each other over the years and learned together.
As Chelsey & Trigger grew up, they added Cody to their family. Trigger was frequently ridden through the city of Grove City, through neighborhoods, drive-thrus, stores and many places you typically don't see a horse. Turning many faces as people couldn't believe they saw a horse on the sidewalk in city limits, many questioned about their kids joining the fun riding and coming to their house to ride. With serving many birthday parties at the rinks and Cody being exceptionally well with kids, giving skating lessons & one of the best birthday party host, we as a couple put our passions together of kids, horses and parties, starting our very own business which started as a fun side hobby in 2014 when we had our first born daughter, Chloey.
We had eventually added more horses to our family and as a hobby, started doing pony parties, parades and lessons. As we wanted to share our passion with everyone out there, we started going into the inner city letting kids and parents see, pet and ride horses which had never seen a horse before.Word of mouth spiraled, gaining us more supporters and fans. In 2016, our twins Carley & Carter were born on Chloey's 2nd birthdate (all 3 same birthday not planned). As our kids have grown with our business as it grew, they are truly great helpers in all that we do. We are trying to also instill a hard work ethic and teach them responsibility like we were taught at a young age. You may see them at events or parties with us as they love tagging along to help when they can!
Over the years, we have added many more horses (up to 24 currently), as we have expanded what we offer. We opened up a leased barn in Galloway, Ohio giving pony rides to the public and educating the riders while they rode. We became well established and well known as word of mouth kept spirialing. Our petting zoo was also started (with a few different types of animals, we now have 13 different types of farm animals - but over 100 animals all together currently) and we started taking the petting zoo with us to nursing homes, schools, daycares, parties, special needs and more. With our pony rides & petting zoo, we started special events such as Unicorn, Easter Bunny, Santa & the Grinch joining us for special holiday events.
In 2018, Horse -N- Round Fun LLC became an official business. As we have grown, we since have added horseback trail riding, carriage rides, horse drawn sledding & sleigh rides, weddings, horse bounce house, train rides, hay wagon rides, day camps, and much more.We have been a mobile pony party petting zoo entertainment service serving all of Ohio but cannot wait to expand to much more now that we finally just purchased our new farm summer of 2022! Tons of plans in the works!
Cody & Chelsey both wear all of the hats between working daily caring for our many horses & animals, answering the phone/scheduling on the go, at parties, trail rides & events on top of being parents in the mix of it all. There are zero days off in this type of business, but we love what we do and love sharing our passion with you!
Our horses and animals are family to us. Though we are not a "rescue" or "sanctuary", we do take in many rescues, blind horses & animals and special needs/high maintance horses & animals and keep for their lifetime. Our horses & animals spend most of their lives with us, enjoying being a horse or animal with no work. They spend their days outside playing and relaxing as we don't like horses & animals cooped up. For the rare times they have easy going work with just walking, we rotate through our large amount of horses so there's never one horse that gets too tired. Our animals keep unlimited hay in front of them at all times, in the barn, out in pastures, while traveling in the trailers, in petting zoo pens etc as we like to keep them all as healthy and happy as possible.
